How to customize the MyClientBase Dashboard/Client Center PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 11 January 2012 13:06

 TO

This tutorial will show you how to customize the MyClientBase (MCB) Adminstrative Dashboard & Client Center. The only problem with doing this is that MCB currently does not have a separate templating system for the administration portion of the system so once you edit it you will need to save all of your edits locally because once you upgrade to a newer version of MCB your edits may be overwritten. There is a benefit though from this structure in that once you edit the Dashboard you automatically have edited the Client Center as they are designed cohesively. So lets get started...

We have changed our Visuex Billing platform to MyClientBase PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 10 January 2012 10:56
|     Written by Michael Tunnell

What is MyClientBase?

MyClientBase (MCB) is an open source and web-based Invoice & Client Managment System which can be used by many different types of businesses. MCB is also the system that we use here at Visuex.com to power the Billing portion of our site.

Why we use an Open Source platform?

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a huge advocate of Open Source Software so when I come across an open source project that has a lot of potential I tend to bust out my adamantium claws and grab on. So when I found MyClientBase the claws came out and here we are. When I'm not working on client's orders I have been building addons and designing templates for the MCB community.

So after testing the system for a few weeks, we have decided to officially migrate to MyClientBase so we will be sending out Login details to all of our clients through emails that we have on file. Clients can login to their accounts and change their information at any time as well as change their password to anything they'd like. If you don't receive login details within this week please let us know just in case we make a mistake and leave someone out.

Our MyClientBase Review

We are currently writing a review article for the invoicing platform, MyClientBase and we will update this article with a link when it is finished.

Visuex Discontinues ALL Projects & Services for LiveZilla PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 03 January 2012 11:10
|     Written by Michael Tunnell

is LiveZilla worth $1,600? short answer: HAHA, NO!

We here at Visuex used to be advocates for LiveZilla, we created Open Source Projects and even started a Design service based on it. However, since the release of Version 4 not only are we no longer advocates but we are now 100% Anti-Livezilla. This article will explain why we stopped using the software as well as the reasoning for why we became Anti-LZ and why our stance of Anti-LZ is so severe as to discontinue our projects and service for it.

How to Activate PayPal Payments inside the Client Center of MyClientBase PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 30 December 2011 15:08
|     Written by Michael Tunnell

This tutorial will show you how to activate PayPal payments inside of the Client Center of MyClientBase for clients to pay online using Paypal. This feature does not allow clients to pay invoices directly from the invoices, it requires your clients to login to the Client Center and pay from their. Here at Visuex, we are working on an addon for MyClientBase that will allow clients to pay directly from the invoices but for the moment this is how to do it. (an update will be made to this tutorial when that addon is released).

How much does Social Media Marketing cost companies in 2011-2012? PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 09 December 2011 15:11
|     Written by Mack Collier & Michael Tunnell

Social Media Marketing has been around for a few years now and there is still a lot of confusion and a lack of clarity regarding what prices companies should expect to pay for social media services. So this blog post will attempt to shed some light on the subject. These figures come from rates shared with me by fellow consultants and agencies that specialize in social media marketing, in addition to my own research, as well as what we charge for similar services.

This article focuses on many social media services including Blogging, Twiiter Marketing, Facebook Marketing, Social Media Strategies, Social Media Consulting (hourly rates), Training Workshops, and even Ghostwriting (yes, companies pay for this)...

How to Quickly & Easily Switch Between Gmail Accounts with Keyboard Shortcuts PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 20 September 2011 18:28
|     Written by Michael Tunnell

Google allows you the ability to use multiple gmail accounts at the same time through multiple sign-in or email delegation each with their own pros and cons but for me delegation works best because of no limitation of how many email accounts you can have open at once in one browser (multiple sign-in limit is 3 inboxes). The problem with delegation is that you have to login to the first gmail account and then use dropdown menus to open the other accounts.

This tutorial will show you how to easily and quickly open many different gmail accounts in one browser using bookmarks, quick search keywords and keyboard shortcuts inside the Firefox web browser.

How to use an SSL Shell to validate non-secure Facebook iFrame Apps PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 20 September 2011 15:21

Facebook has decided to require SSL certificates (https://) for all iFrame Facebook Apps as of October 1st, 2011. This decision has been met with mixed reactions and even I'm conflicted with what I think about it. On one hand, I agree with it because having a secure connection over non-secure will certainly help the casual users that use Facebook and have no need to know what it even is. On the other hand, I don't like it because it then requires people who make Facebook Apps for clients like I do to have SSL Certificates for each client/app. That would be a VERY BIG hassle to deal with especially on websites that have absolutely zero need for SSL, like my personal site which doesn't collect anything from its visitors.

This tutorial will show you how to use a single SSL Certificate (you need at least one, that is unavoidable) to make as many Facebook Apps on as many Domains as you need to.
