The Internet is in jeopardy! The U.S. Government is trying to pass two bills ( House Bill 3261, The Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and S.968, the PROTECT IP Act (PIPA).) as laws which could fatally damage the internet as a whole. On the Tuesday, 24th of January 2012, the US Senate will vote on the internet censorship bill.

While these bills are from the American government, it has far reaching repercussions for the web as a whole. The phrase "Break The Internet" is being used to describe what these bills can do and even though that sounds like an exaggeration, unfortunately it's true.

There are many companies against SOPA, such as Google, Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, Wikipedia, Internet Archive (archive.org) and today Visuex is joining the fight against internet censorship.

We urge all of our customers and readers to please share this information with your family, friends, co-workers or just that guy on the street who is wearing that red baseball hat. Everyone needs to know about this potentially fatal bill and everyone needs to do anything they can to let their voice be heard!

If you think SOPA doesn't affect you, please think again. Watch the video below and take action.

For example: videos like the one below which is a parody song acting out against SOPA and PIPA uses the beat of "American Pie" by Don McLean yet the lyrics are all original and are performed differently than the original song but with these bills the media companies like RIAA can shut his sites down just because it borrows the music for comedic effect. (which he actually plays himself, not a recording of the actual music) This means that any cover band instantly becomes a group of criminals.

After you Take Action, spread the word and sharing this on Facebook, Twitter, Google +, Tumblr, etc
